This poster demonstrates how the ASCP BOC Credential Maintenance Program (CMP) supports lifelong learning, professional competency, and patient safety across the global medical laboratory workforce. Data show increased participation rates in both ASCP and ASCPi CMP programs, alongside expanded requirements that strengthen ethics and specialty-based learning, reinforcing CMP’s role in sustaining quality care and professional excellence.

Enhancing Laboratory Outcomes Through “Stacked” Professional Credentials: A Study of ASCP BOC Trends

This poster analyzes trends among laboratory professionals who hold multiple ASCP BOC credentials, revealing a growing emphasis on specialization and continuous professional development. Results indicate that nearly 10% of credential holders possess two or more credentials, supporting workforce adaptability, career advancement, and improved laboratory outcomes across domestic and international settings. 

 

SCT(ASCP) Eligibility Route 3: ASCP BOC Alignment with Program Director / Cytologist Expectations and Outcomes

This research evaluates the outcomes of the SCT(ASCP) Eligibility Route 3, developed to align with master’s-level cytology education and evolving scopes of practice. Findings show strong examination performance, high pass rates, and positive alignment between ASCP BOC credentialing, accredited programs, and regulatory expectations, underscoring the value of collaborative credential pathway design.  

 

Enhancing Global Connectivity: ASCP BOC’s Social Media Diplomacy Strategy

This poster examines how ASCP BOC’s strategic use of social media transformed global engagement and credential awareness after 2018. Results show substantial growth in audience reach and engagement, particularly internationally, demonstrating how targeted, data-informed digital diplomacy can strengthen professional identity, outreach, and trust in credential value worldwide.  

 

Impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic on Accredited Programs and Its Graduates

This study assesses the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on U.S. medical laboratory education programs and graduate outcomes using survey data from accredited program directors. Results indicate widespread disruption to instructional delivery and clinical training, with university-based programs experiencing greater negative impacts on ASCP BOC examination performance, highlighting long-term implications for workforce preparedness and educational resilience.
