U.S. Military Programs
Several certifications offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) have eligibility routes specifically designed for those who have completed United States (U.S.) military training programs.
Active military personnel in good standing enrolled in a U.S. military training program accredited by NAACLS, CAAHEP, or ABHES can sit for the appropriate ASCP BOC certification examination during the last three weeks of Phase II training
If required for your route of application, one of the following must be uploaded as a PDF document in the training section of the online application:
Applications need to be submitted online, and payment received, within 90 days from the date you started the application. Applications are not considered complete until payment has been received and processed.
If your application fee is being paid by the military, you will need to print your invoice to submit to the military for payment. At the end of the application, choose "pay by check" to print your invoice.
Submit your invoice to the appropriate military personnel to be submitted to the ASCP BOC office with payment. Payment instructions are included on the invoice.
Processing of your application will begin when payment is received and processed. Please note that application fees are non-refundable.
Military personnel and their families can take ASCP BOC certification examinations at military bases and any other approved Pearson VUE test center. To gain access to on-base military test centers, an examinee must have both a valid government ID and authorization to enter the base. Make sure that you have proper authorization for access to the military base before scheduling your examination appointment. You can find a site near you on the Pearson VUE website.
Military candidates should schedule an appointment at a date and time of their choice within their eligibility window by following the instructions in their Admission Notification.
