The Examination Eligibility Verification Report (EEV) is a tool provided by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC). This tool allows program directors of NAACLS, CAAHEP, and ABHES-accredited laboratory professional programs to electronically verify students’ program completion.
Applicants will appear on your EEV for program verification within 24 hours of a paid application being submitted. You will receive an automated email when a student's application is marked "Eligible," prompting you to log into your ASCP account to review the EEV. You may log in to your account at any time to access the EEV.
You must confirm each student's successful completion of your program before they can schedule their examination date. Students will receive their Admission Notification, and be able to schedule their examination appointment, within 48 hours of their program director verifying their successful completion through the EEV. The eligibility window for testing begins once program completion is verified. If students apply before completing their program, their eligibility to test starts the day after their program completion date.
Please do not verify a student’s eligibility until both you and they are confident that they will successfully complete all program requirements by the date they indicated on their application, which appears on your EEV. This includes clinical requirements and final examinations. Students should not apply earlier than six weeks before program completion.
If you have already signed off on a student’s eligibility and have since learned they will not complete their program by the date indicated, please immediately email us at PDInfo@ascp.org.
Signing off on a student's eligibility through the EEV verifies that they have successfully completed all components of your program. We do not need a program transcript to be submitted to verify completion of your program.
Students must also have an official transcript sent directly from their educational institution to the ASCP BOC to verify that they have met the academic requirements.
Applications are processed individually, not as school groups; therefore, not all students will appear on your EEV at the same time.
Important: do not mark the student as “ineligible” as this will delete the student’s application
Students from accredited programs may schedule and take their ASCP BOC examination once before their official transcript has been received and processed by the ASCP BOC office. Therefore, they should enter their program end date, which may differ from their official graduation date, on their online application.
If the program end date is incorrect, do not select anything from the dropdown menu. Click on “Incorrect Date?” to send an email with the correct information to the ASCP BOC.
You will need to log back in to the EEV to verify the corrected date. Please note that you will not receive an email alert when the program end date is updated.
You will only verify a student’s program completion once, even if they take the examination multiple times. Archived reports list students who have previously been verified through the EEV in chronological order by program end date.
