As a program director, you are responsible for providing accurate and timely information to the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) for their consideration of a candidate’s eligibility.
Successful completion of all components of your accredited program is a requirement for examination eligibility. Once a candidate has submitted their application and are awaiting verification of program completion, you will need to respond to Examination Eligibility Verification (EEV) requests. Only verify eligibility once you are sure that the student will successfully complete all program requirements, including clinical rotations and final examinations, by the date indicated on the EEV.
Successful completion of your categorical or structured laboratory program is a requirement for examination eligibility. Make sure that you provide each student with an appropriate documentation form and letter of authenticity, signed by you. See Accredited and Structured Programs for complete information.
The program director is responsible for notifying the ASCP BOC by email to PDInfo@ascp.org as soon as possible if any student on the EEV will not complete your program or degree requirements by the date indicated.
Ensure that you will receive all necessary ASCP BOC-related emails, such as emails regarding the EEV and PPR, by adding ascp@site02.ascpmail.org to your “safe” email list.
Also, make sure that you have opted in to receiving emails from the ASCP BOC.
Please make sure that “Board of Certification” and “ASCP Surveys” are not checked.
Items that are checked are those that you have Opted Out of receiving.
