About the Examination

 

All American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) examinations consist of multiple-choice questions. Learn more about the format and methodology used for ASCP BOC credentialing examinations.

All American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) examination applications are evaluated to verify that applicants meet the eligibility requirements.   Once an application has been made “Eligible,” applicants receive an Admission Notification that provides instructions on scheduling their certification examination or taking their qualification examination.  All scheduling, cancelling, and rescheduling of certification examination appointments is between the examinee and Pearson VUE. 

All American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) certification examinations are administered at approved Pearson VUE Testing Centers.  Read about identification requirements, check-in procedures, and test center procedures, including prohibited materials and behavior.

All examinees will receive an official score report within a week of taking an American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) examination. You are not credentialed until your passing score report is made available to you; this score report includes your certification number (certifications only) and valid three-year credential cycle dates.
