Program Directors Advisory Committee (PDAC)

The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) Program Directors Advisory Committee (PDAC) is a peer-based group that develops resources to enhance program director and educator experiences. Volunteers represent each program area for which the ASCP BOC offers credentials.

Responsibilities 

  • Host live events focused on relevant topics of concern for programs and allow for engagement.
  • Serve as moderators on social media to address program-related questions and concerns.
  • Address other issues affecting programs as needed. 

Time Commitment 

  • Meets at least quarterly by conference call.
  • Other meetings may be scheduled at the request of the Chair.

Terms

  • Volunteers serve a 3-year terms, renewable once.
  • Members are elected by the committee and approved by the Chair of the BOG.

Volunteers are program directors, education or clinical coordinators, or faculty and represent each of the major medical laboratory programs: 

  • Blood Banking
  • Cytogenetics
  • Cytology
  • Histology
  • Medical Laboratory Assistant
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist
  • Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Molecular Biology
  • Pathologists’ Assistants
  • Phlebotomy
