At the ASCP BOC Board of Governors (BOG) fall 2025 meeting, the BOG approved a number of changes to titles of ASCP BOC credentials from Technologist to Scientist. Changes have been made to ASCP BOC's Phlebotomy Technician - PBT(ASCP) Route 2. During the Board of Governors (BOG) meeting in November of 2025, the board approved the removal of 100 clinical hours necessary for eligibility route 2; all other requirements for route 2 have stayed the same.
