Apheresis Work Group

The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) Apheresis Work Group develops, maintains, and evaluates questions for the Qualification in Apheresis (QIA) examination.

Responsibilities

  • Writes and reviews examination questions.
  • Performs standard setting for examinations.
  • Develops and reviews the examination eligibility requirements, topic outlines, and resource list.
  • Participates in all work group meetings, conference calls, and activities.
  • Promotes the value of ASCP BOC credentials.

Time Commitment

  • Meets in person or by conference call annually. Approved travel expenses are covered by the ASCP BOC.
  • Meets periodically by conference call during the year.
  • Volunteers work independently on assignments throughout the year.

Terms

Work group volunteers serve:

  • One guest year
  • Up to two consecutive 5-year terms
