The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) is an integral part of the ASCP for corporate, tax, fiscal, personnel policy, and other administrative purposes, but the BOC has autonomy in all credentialing-related activities. The ASCP BOC manages conflicts of interest and ensures impartiality by representative membership on its Board of Governors from other associations and societies.
The ASCP BOC is not a membership organization, and successful credentialing or credential maintenance by the ASCP BOC does not grant or require membership in any professional organization. The ASCP BOC does not discriminate among applicants as to age, gender, race, religion, national origin, handicap. marital status, or sexual orientation.
