Specific eligibility routes are available for graduates of NAACLS, CAAHEP, and ABHES-accredited laboratory programs,
and formal structured laboratory programs, to sit for American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP BOC) credentialing examinations.
To become accredited, you’ll need to apply to NAACLS, CAAHEP, or ABHES by submitting a formal application and fee.
Under the auspices of a NAACLS-accredited MLS program, some programs or institutions also offer structured categorical programs in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, and/or microbiology.
In addition to accredited laboratory education programs, the ASCP BOC recognizes that some institutions offer structured programs in histology and phlebotomy, and for medical laboratory assistants.
