Specific eligibility routes are available for graduates of accredited laboratory programs
and/or structured programs to sit for ASCP BOC credentialing examinations.
To become accredited, you’ll need to apply to NAACLS, CAAHEP, or ABHES by submitting a formal application and fee.
Under the auspices of a NAACLS-accredited MLS program, some programs or institutions also offer structured categorical programs in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, and/or microbiology.
In addition to accredited laboratory education programs, the ASCP BOC recognizes that some institutions offer structured programs in histology and phlebotomy, and for medical laboratory assistants.
