Application Status

All information regarding the status of your American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) examination application (from submission to examination results) is available by logging into your ASCP account. When the status of your application changes, an email notification is sent with instructions to log in to your account.

Sometimes these emails get flagged as junk or Spam. After submitting your application, log in to your ASCP Account regularly to view its status.

The ASCP BOC will not grant extensions, reinstate deleted applications, or refund application fees due to the non-receipt of application status email notifications. See ASCP BOC Application Policies for complete information.

When reviewing your application, you may see the following Application Statuses:

Received 

Your application and fee have been successfully submitted. Your application, along with any uploaded documents, is in the ASCP BOC team's queue for processing. All applications are processed in the order they are received.

Deficient

Your application and submitted documents have been reviewed by the ASCP BOC team. The documentation you provided has not verified that all eligibility requirements have been met; you must resolve these deficiencies to move forward in the application process. Eligible

Your application and submitted documents have been reviewed by the ASCP BOC team. The documentation you provided has verified that all eligibility requirements have been met. Your Admission Notification is available after logging in to your ASCP account with instructions on scheduling your examination appointment

Ineligible

Your application and submitted documents have been reviewed by the ASCP BOC team. You did not resolve identified deficiencies within the appropriate timeframe and must submit a new application, including payment. If you wish to appeal an eligibility decision, the ASCP BOC Appeals Process may be used to request reconsideration.
