Examination Integrity

Attaining an American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) credential by passing an examination provides evidence that an individual possesses the essential knowledge and skills to practice safely and effectively in the laboratory, therefore enhancing patient safety and supporting patient care.

The ASCP BOC takes examination security seriously. To protect the value of ASCP BOC credentials, you are required to keep all examination content confidential.

You may NOT:

  • Share recalled (remembered) questions or content from your examination with anyone, including instructors and future examinees

  • Solicit questions from anyone who has previously taken the examination

These actions:

  • Violate the confidentiality pledges all applicants and examinees agreed to when applying for and taking the examination

  • Threaten the integrity of the ASCP BOC’s credentialing processes

  • Infringe on the ASCP BOC’s intellectual property rights

  • Negatively impact patient safety and quality care

Be aware that individuals who share recalled questions from their examination may have their credentials revoked and be barred from taking any future ASCP BOC examination(s).
