The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) is a federated organization comprised of one public representative and a volunteer(s) from the following organizations:

These federated partners select a nominee(s) to represent them on the BOC Board of Governors (BOG) in a formal election process.

ASCP BOC Board of Governors

The BOG defines and governs the activities of the ASCP BOC, develops policies, and fosters relationships with interested organizations. All members share in a collective authority to further the ASCP BOC mission to provide excellence in certification of laboratory professionals on behalf of patients worldwide. 

Standing Committees and Task Forces

Standing Committees are established by the Board and handle specific duties such as finance, policy, or communication. BOG volunteers are appointed annually to standing committees.

Task Forces are created to address a specific issue or project, typically involving research, analysis, and recommendations. These groups are often comprised of board members and include external subject matter experts who can bring specialized knowledge to the task at hand. A task force is a temporary group, and volunteers do not have set terms.
