Earn Points

Continuing education (CE) providers offer a wide variety of continuing education activities such as workshops, webinars, podcasts, subscription programs, and online courses. There are numerous opportunities to accumulate CE credits, both through CE providers and other activities.

CE Providers

Due to the large volume of available CE programs, the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) does not review or approve programs or courses. Programs or courses provided by employers and state, regional, or local professional organizations are acceptable for CMP points if they meet the criteria described under the guidelines for earning CEs. The program or course provider must assign points or contact hours.

Other Activities

Activities earned outside of a CE provider, such as authoring journal articles or serving on a committee or board, may also be used to earn CE credits.

Documentation

Retain all original certificates of attendance or other verification of CE activity completion. You will only need to submit documentation to the ASCP BOC in the event of an audit.

Guidelines for Earning CEs

Review the guidelines for earning CEs to confirm the number of CMP points received for completing specific activities.
