Ethics Review Committee  

The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) Ethics Review Committee reviews allegations of fraud and misrepresentation of credentials, as well as inappropriate conduct during examination.  

Responsibilities 

  • Review allegations of material misrepresentations in applications, inappropriate conduct during the examination, misrepresentation, or misuse of credential status

  • Reviews allegations of violations of the ASCP BOC Credential Holder Code of Conduct and the BOC Volunteers Code of Conduct

  • Meet to review specific cases and make determinations of appropriate disciplinary actions  

  • Review the ethical behavior of Board of Certification volunteers if needed 

  • Review the appeals process and make appropriate recommendations to the Board of Governors (BOG) for revisions 

Time Commitment 

  • Meets as necessary

Terms 

  • Volunteers are appointed annually by the BOG Chair 

Requirement

  • The Ethics Review Committee is composed of members of the BOG
