Board of Governors  

The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) Board of Governors (BOG) has the care, control, and custody of all credentialing activities for the ASCP BOC. The BOG fosters relationships with interested organizations and serves as the strategic body that provides guidance gained through consensus about the future direction of the organization. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Assure the ASCP BOC mission and vision are current, meaningful, and patient-centric. 

  • Provide fiscal oversight. 

  • Define and govern ASCP BOC activities. 

  • Monitor credential development and performance.

Time Commitment 

  • Two face-to-face Board meetings per year. 

  • BOG members are appointed to various committees, work groups, and task forces, which require additional meetings. 

Terms 

  • Volunteers serve a 3-year term, renewable twice, for a maximum of nine years

4 representatives from the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) 

5 medical laboratory professionals and 5 fellow representatives from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) 

1 representative from the  American Society for Microbiology (ASM) 

1 representative from the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC) 

2 representatives from the Association of Genetic Technologists (AGT) 

1 representative from the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH) 

1 Public Member
