The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) offers a secure, verifiable process for obtaining primary source verification (PSV) of professional credential holders with real-time results. Verifying a credential through the ASCP BOC ensures that laboratory professionals are who they say they are —ASCP BOC-credentialed and committed to excellence.

Guide to Ordering Primary Source Verification

Primary source verification (PSV) of ASCP BOC credentials may be completed through an online order process. Online verification of the status of a professional's credential(s) includes the category, credential number (for certification only), and valid date(s).

Order Verification of Credentials

Wall Certificates

Through December 31, 2025, professionals who have earned an ASCP BOC credential will receive a wall certificate from the ASCP BOC. As of January 2026, all newly credentialed professionals will receive a digital badge through Credly. Wall certificates will no longer be provided.

Digital Badging Through Credly

In early 2026, the ASCP BOC will launch digital badging through Credly, a trusted provider that increases the visibility of ASCP BOC credential holders by securely allowing professionals to showcase and share their credentials.

Fraudulent Use of Credentials
