ASCP BOC Pricing Policy For Individuals From Low-To-Middle Income Countries (LMICs) 

 

Protection of the safety and welfare of the public is a global concern. As such, the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) aims to increase accessibility of ASCPi credentialing and the ASCPi Credential Maintenance Program (CMP) for those educated and residing in low-to-middle income countries (LMICs). 

The following aspects are considered when determining which countries are eligible for reduced fees: 

  • Wages of practicing Medical Laboratory Scientists 
  • Gross Domestic Product (PPP) 
  • Market demand 
This pricing policy empowers applicants in LMICs to obtain and maintain ASCPi credentials and improve clinical laboratory practice worldwide. 

Applicants who both (a) obtained medical laboratory education in, AND (b) currently reside in the following countries, will receive LMIC pricing for all ASCPi credential examination categories: 

  • ASCPi credential examination application fee $95  
 

Applicants who both (a) obtained medical laboratory education in, AND (b) currently reside in the following countries, will receive the following LMIC pricing for the Credential Maintenance Program (CMP) for the recertification of ASCPi credentials: 

  • CMP application fee $35  
  • CMP reinstatement fee $25 

 The reinstatement fee is in addition to the application fee for expired certifications. 

Applicants who obtained their education in one of the countries listed and who reside in a country that is not on this list must pay the standard application and CMP fees.
