ASCP members can access the Society’s 2024-2025 Patient Centered Public Policy Priorities here. This document outlines the public policy issues on which ASCP is engaged. The document was approved recently by the ASCP Commission on Science, Technology and Public Policy. Among the many issue areas addressed in the document are cultivating the laboratory workforce and ensuring appropriate federal oversight of laboratory tests (LDTs). This latter policy area maps our ASCP’s goal of supporting an LDT oversight strategy that both protects public health while not deterring innovation.
