Global Health Steering Committee

The Global Health Steering Committee will help to strategize and implement ASCP’s global health portfolio of projects. Using a scientifically driven approach, and with mindfulness around intentional and respectful bidirectional partnerships, the GH Steering Committee will help ensure that ASCP’s global health work:

  1. Raises the profile of the laboratory workforce.
  2. Provides cost-effective and sustainable solutions that empower laboratorians.
  3. Improves laboratory quality and patient care around the world.

Reports To

ASCP Commission on Science, Technology & Public Policy (CSTP)

Time Commitment

The committee holds bimonthly virtual conference calls.

Composition

The Global Health Steering Committee will be composed of ASCP member representatives including:

  • One (1) Chair
  • One (1) DEI Liaison (ASCP DEI Committee or CPD-DEI SIG)
  • One (1) Resident Council Liaison
  • One (1) member that holds an ASCPi certification
  • At least two (2) laboratory professional members
  • At least four (4) AP and/or CP pathologist members

Terms

  • Chairs serve one-year terms renewable up to five times (for a potential total of 6 years
  • Members serve one or two-year terms renewable up to a potential total of 6 years
