MIPS 2019: What Pathologists Should Do to Avoid Future Penalties

July 10, 2019

Eligible clinicians who fail to report data under Medicare's 2019 Quality Payment Program (QPP) will be subject to a 7% penalty in 2021. To avoid the penalty, pathologists need to score a minimum of 30 points in this year's iteration of the QPP's Merit-based Incentive Payment System or MIPS. See ASCP’s resource guide for more information on how to score the maximum points and avoid a penalty.
