HCPlive (7/22, Johnson) reports research found that “pneumococcal vaccination was associated with reduced hospitalizations and reduced severity of COVID-19 course and outcomes in people with inflammatory rheumatic diseases (IRD).” Study results indicate that “influenza vaccination is associated with increased risks of hospitalization, severe COVID-19, and death in the same patient population.” The findings were published in Vaccine.
