Infectious Disease Advisor (7/16, Nye) reports, “Real-world evidence suggests XBB.1.5-adapted mRNA vaccines are effective for the prevention of severe COVID-19 outcomes, according to findings.” In the systematic review and network meta-analysis, “data captured from adult populations indicated BNT162b2 XBB.1.5-adapted and mRNA-1273 XBB.1.5-adapted monovalent vaccines conferred similar protection against XBB-related hospitalization, infection, and medically attended visits.” The findings were published in Expert Review of Vaccines.
