Myasthenia Gravis News (2/26, Bryson) reports, “High levels of lactic acid in the bloodstream immediately after surgery to remove the thymus gland were associated with an increased risk of postoperative myasthenic crisis, or POMC, among people with myasthenia gravis (MG), a study reveals.” Investigators came to this conclusion after examining “clinical data on 340” patients with MG “who had a thymectomy.” The findings were published in Muscle & Nerve.
