Infectious Disease Advisor (2/5, Nye) reports, “Influenza vaccination was found to be protective against influenza-related illness across all age groups and health care settings during the 2023-2024 season,” a study published in Clinical Infectious Diseases found. Researchers “sourced real-world data from health systems across 8 states to evaluate influenza vaccine effectiveness (VE)” and found that “the VE of the 2023-2024 influenza vaccine against pediatric hospitalizations and ED/UC visits was 58% (95% CI, 44-69) and 58% (95% CI, 56-60), respectively.”
