Healio (1/15, Stulpin) reports, “Using a novel approach accounting for prescriber preference, researchers found that longer durations of antibiotic therapy was not associated with greater risk of harm or benefit compared to a shorter duration.” The investigators found “that there was no difference in medically attended visits for antibiotic harms or benefits when comparing short vs. long durations.” The findings were published in Clinical Infectious Diseases.
