Infectious Disease Advisor (10/25, McSwiggin) reported, “Breakthrough measles cases vs measles in unvaccinated individuals were milder in severity and had fewer complications, according to study results.” The researchers said, “These findings highlight that in the rare instance in which the vaccine does not prevent measles, measles vaccine receipt can prevent severe clinical outcomes associated with measles.” The findings were published in Clinical Infectious Diseases.
