Infectious Disease Advisor (10/22, Nye) reports, “With preexisting immunity to SARS-CoV-2, a single COVID-19 mRNA vaccine dose provides similar protection to that of a 2-dose series among immunocompetent patients aged 5 years and older, according to study results.” The researchers said, “These findings support current recommendations for one dose of COVID-19 vaccines regardless of vaccination status to be given in advance of the viral respiratory season with considerations for additional doses for certain populations.” The findings were presented at IDWeek.
