UN Issues Warning About Rising Infectious Diseases In Gaza

The Hill (12/13, Nazzaro) reports, “The United Nations on Tuesday warned of rising infectious diseases in Gaza amid overcrowded living conditions and an overwhelmed health system as Israel continues to wage air and ground attacks against Palestinian militant group Hamas.” The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs “pointed to the Gaza Health Ministry’s estimate of 360,000 cases of infectious diseases in shelters.” However, “a spokesperson for the Health Ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, said the actual number of cases is believed to be higher.”
