Mark your calendar immediately to attend the Grand Opening General Session with Pulitzer Prize-winning author and presidential historian Jon Meacham, who will speak at 10:30 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Edith P. Mitchell, MD, MACP, FCPP, FRCS, Clinical Professor, Enterprise Associate Director for Cancer Disparities, and Program Leader, Gastrointestinal Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University, will speak during the Scientific Keynote Address, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 4:15 p.m. CDT.

Dr. Mitchell also serves as Associate Director for Diversity Programs and Director of the Center to Eliminate Cancer Disparities for the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University. A past president of the National Medical Association, Dr. Mitchell served on the National Cancer Institute’s Blue Ribbon Panel convened to advise the National Cancer Advisory Board on then Former Vice President Biden’s National Cancer Moonshot Initiative. She is a retired US Air Force Brigadier General, having served in the Air National Guard. 

On Sept. 8, in honor of ASCP’s special 100th Anniversary Celebration, all in-person attendees are invited for a night of socializing, dancing, live entertainment, cocktails and appetizers at the University Club of Chicago. Enjoy sweeping views of Lake Michigan and the beautiful Chicago lakefront in a spectacular setting for this a once-in-a-century event. Registration is required.
