Georgia Personnel Standards May Soon End

April 01, 2021

Legislation opposed by ASCP and the ASCP Board of Certification may soon be signed into law by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. Legislation, HB 93, repealing Georgia’s clinical laboratory licensure law was recently approved by the Georgia state legislature. Georgia’s laboratory licensure law includes provisions setting personnel standards for clinical laboratory professionals there; however, these provisions are among those recently repealed by the legislature.

ASCP has urged the Georgia Governor to veto the measure due to the loss of the laboratory personnel standards.
