Infectious Disease Advisor (6/17, Khaja) reports, “Among children and adolescents living with HIV, dolutegravir (DTG)-based antiretroviral therapy (ART) demonstrates sustained superior efficacy compared with non-dolutegravir standard care regimens over 240 weeks, according to study findings.” Researchers came to this conclusion after conducting “the ODYSSEY randomized clinical trial...to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of DTG-based ART among infants, children, and adolescents living with HIV who were either initiating first-line therapy or switching to second-line treatment after virologic failure.” The findings were published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases.
