Pulmonology Advisor (5/5, Stong) reports, “Immune-priming events such as COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations may have cross-protective effects against the incidence of viral acute respiratory infections (ARIs), according to study findings.” Researchers came to this conclusion after conducting “a retrospective, population-based cohort study to assess the individual-level risk for viral ARIs after exposure to immune-priming events,” using “data from the National Clinical Cohort Collaborative (N3C) COVID-19 Data Enclave.” The findings were published in Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses.
