ACIP To Review Childhood Immunization Schedule
June 26, 2025
The Washington Post (6/25, A1, Sun, Weber, Roubein) reports the new Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices handpicked by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Wednesday “that it would examine the cumulative effect of the childhood vaccine schedule and reevaluate hepatitis B immunization recommendations – moves that could shift long-standing practices of how and when children are immunized in the United States.” CNN (6/25, Tirrell, Goodman, Christensen) reports ACIP said it would create two work groups to “study the cumulative effects of the childhood and adolescent vaccine schedules, the hepatitis B vaccine dose given at birth and the combination measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox vaccine.”
