Program Manager, New Jersey Department of Health

2022 Honoree

Since being named 40 Under Forty honoree, I have completed a Doctor of Healthcare Science from Pacific University. This academic achievement has been instrumental in advancing my goal of becoming a transformational leader. My studies provided me with a profound understanding of systems-thinking, the principles of action research, and the importance of developing a DEI mindset. These elements emphasize a cyclical process of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting to drive continuous improvement, while also fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives. This comprehensive approach has empowered me to implement evidence-based changes and cultivate a culture of learning and innovation in my professional roles.

Additionally, my academic journey highlighted the critical importance of interdisciplinary collaborations in improving practices and making meaningful change. By working across disciplines, we can integrate diverse expertise and perspectives, leading to more comprehensive solutions and enhanced outcomes in healthcare settings. I have actively incorporated this approach in my practice, participating in and deeply appreciating collaborations among various disciplines. These partnerships have been instrumental in driving innovation and achieving better processes, reinforcing the value of diverse insights and teamwork in addressing complex challenges.

Currently, I am privileged to serve as the Program Manager for the Biobanking Compliance Program at the New Jersey Department of Health, where we are actively engaged in the rulemaking process for the registration and accreditation of Human Milk Banks.

I am deeply appreciative of the support and recognition from ASCP and the professional community which have been invaluable to my growth and development. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the fields of laboratory science and public health, and to making a positive impact through leadership and collaboration.
