Leah Williamson

EdD, MHS, PA(ASCP), MLS

Leah Williamson, EdD, MHS, PA(ASCP), MLS, is a doctoral-trained health science educator and certified Pathologists’ Assistant with more than a decade of experience in laboratory medicine, anatomic pathology, and graduate medical education. She most recently served as director of Clinical Education and assistant professor in a nationally accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program, leading clinical training, curriculum innovation, and national academic collaborations. 

Board-certified as both a Pathologists’ Assistant and Medical Laboratory Scientist, Dr. Williamson holds a Doctor of Education in professional leadership and medical education from the University of Houston and a Master of Health Science from Quinnipiac University. Her doctoral research explored professional identity formation in Pathologists’ Assistants, focusing on visibility, leadership, and workforce sustainability. 

Her guiding principle is simple: To prepare laboratory professionals not only to master their craft, but to lead with integrity, advocate for their profession, and collaborate across disciplines to transform patient care. She has created nationally implemented training tools, organized hybrid symposia, and developed educational models that help graduates thrive as visible, respected, and fulfilled professionals. 

Outside of work, she enjoys supporting professional organizations, mentoring emerging leaders, and fostering connections across the laboratory sciences.
