Patrick McIntire

MD, EMBA, FASCP

Patrick McIntire, MD, EMBA, FASCP, is the subspecialty director of Breast Pathology at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He is board certified in anatomic pathology and cytopathology and completed fellowship training in both at Weill Cornell Medicine and Loyola University Medical Center. He recently earned his Executive MBA from Case Western Reserve University, where he focused on healthcare strategy and operational leadership. 

Dr. McIntire is the founding chair of Cleveland Clinic’s Committee on Clinical Strategy, where he oversees both large-scale and targeted initiatives aimed at improving pathology operations and innovation. His work includes implementing AI-assisted workflow tools and leading efforts to optimize diagnostic efficiency, workload distribution, and interdepartmental collaboration within one of the largest pathology departments in the country. 

He serves on the College of American Pathologists’ Economic Affairs and CPT/RUC Subcommittees and is associate editor for the International Journal of Surgical Pathology. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics spanning breast pathology, digital image analysis, and translational cancer diagnostics. 

Outside of work, Dr. McIntire enjoys golf, independent films, and spending time with friends and family.
