Santosh Kadel, DCLS, MS, CC(NRCC), MLS(ASCP)CM, is the clinical architect for Laboratory Medicine at ChristianaCare health system in Delaware. He is actively involved in laboratory stewardship, test standardization, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and research. He also serves as the co-chair of the education committee in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at ChristianaCare. Dr. Kadel is board-certified in clinical chemistry by the National Registry of Certified Chemists. He completed a doctorate degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston. He received his master's degree in clinical laboratory sciences from UTMB and bachelor's degree in medical technology from Wichita State University.
Dr. Kadel has served as a member of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which provides scientific and technical advice and guidance to the Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and several agencies within the Department of HHS. Dr. Kadel’s career goal is to elevate laboratory services to laboratory medicine by bringing the laboratory to the forefront of patient care. He continuously engages with clinical and administrative leaders and implements novel biomarkers and best practices to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Kadel finds pleasure in educating medical students, residents, fellows, and other clinicians about relevant topics in laboratory medicine.
