Dr. Hisham Bahmad, MD, MBA, is currently a Molecular Genetic Pathology fellow at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Health System. He is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, having completed his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida and a Breast and Gynecologic Pathology fellowship at the University of Miami. He earned his doctor of medicine from Beirut Arab University and holds a master’s degree in Neuropsychology from the Lebanese University, and an MBA in Healthcare Management from West Texas A&M University, graduating with high distinction.
Dr. Bahmad’s current role involves advanced training in molecular diagnostics, translational research, and precision oncology, with a focus on integrating molecular findings with histopathology to improve cancer diagnosis and management. With more than 120 peer-reviewed publications, an edited book, several book chapters, and editorial roles in high-impact journals, Dr. Bahmad has contributed significantly to cancer research and medical education. He has received multiple awards, including the Howard Kane Resident of the Year Award, Klausner Award for outstanding research, and Fellow of the Year Teaching Award.
Among his interests, Dr. Bahmad enjoys serving as a mentor and is passionate about quality improvement and curriculum development in pathology education. Dr. Bahmad’s guiding ethos is to bridge the gap between molecular pathology and clinical diagnostics, with the goal of improving patient outcomes through multidisciplinary collaboration. Outside of work, he enjoys mentoring aspiring physician-scientists and advancing research innovation through educational outreach.
