Marwah M. Albakri, PhD, SCYM(ASCP)CM, sMBA, is an assistant professor of Pathology at Taibah University in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. She earned her master's and doctorate in cancer biology from Case Western Reserve University. She is certified in Cytometry by ASCP and as a Senior Specialist in Clinical Laboratories by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. She received her bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology from Taibah University. Dr. Albakri’s expertise includes flow cytometry, immunopathology, and cancer immunology. Her work has been recognized with awards including the 2019 AAI Trainee Abstract Award and the Excellence Award in Community Service at Taibah University in 2025. She also was invited to present her work at Global Health Week 2024.
At Taibah University, Dr. Albakri teaches pathology, histology, and histological techniques, integrating case-based learning and hospital field visits to connect laboratory science with clinical practice. She supervises the Applied Medical Sciences Students’ Club, leading more than six annual public awareness events in collaboration with healthcare professionals. She serves on the Standing Committee for Scientific Research and Publishing, the college’s quality assurance committee, and has contributed to the 2025–2030 strategic plan. She also serves on the Ethics and Patients’ Rights Committee at Taibah University. Dr. Albakri was nominated to the Student Affairs Deanship’s strategic planning team.
Among her interests, Dr. Albakri is dedicated to strengthening the recognition of laboratory professionals as vital members of the healthcare team through teaching, research, clinical collaboration, and community outreach. She is also a certified yoga instructor, with a commitment to promoting balance and resilience in professional and personal lives.
