On June 25, President Joseph P. Biden signed into law bipartisan legislation intended to prevent dangerous individuals from possessing firearms. The measure, the first significant legislation aimed at addressing gun violence in 30 years, provides funds to support state red-flag laws and investments in mental health initiatives. In addition, ASCP is pleased to report that funding sought by ASCP for research into gun violence prevention has been added to legislation recently approved by the House Appropriations Committee.
