ASCP Working on COVID-19 Testing Shortages

ASCP has been working with the Trump Administration and Congress to raise awareness of shortage issues affecting laboratory response to COVID-19. On March 12, ASCP released an action alert urging ASCP members to contact the Trump Administration and Congress to raise concern about the shortages of reagents, RNA extraction kits, other testing supplies, such as personal protective equipment, and qualified laboratory personnel. The alert has resulted in more than 25,000 letters to federal policymakers.
