When ASCP announced via ePolicy last week that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) had agreed to ASCP’s recommendation that pathologists and laboratory personnel be allowed to provide pathology slides remotely, it was not clear whether non-physicians would also be able to provide pathology services remotely.

On March 28, CMS clarified that the enforcement discretion is extended to non-physician laboratory professionals as well, per ASCP’s request. For more information, click here.
