Celebrate Lab Week! Honor yourself and your colleagues as a vital part of the lab community

May the Force be with You!  Last year, the Star Wars-themed video by a laboratory team at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miama, Fla., won the ASCP Lab Week contest. “It illustrated the team spirit that we have,” said Barney Jarquin, section chief for the hospital’s chemistry department. “Lab Week puts our team in the spotlight. A lot of people don’t know that there is a small team who provides the diagnostic results so the patient can get better.”

In honor of this year’s Lab Week, April 22-28, ASCP celebrates your passion for the profession with the 2018 Star Lab Photo & Video Contest. Upload your photo or video and vote for your favorites on Facebook by clicking here, through Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 2 p.m. CDT.

ASCP is one of 18 laboratory medicine organizations responsible for coordinating this high-profile celebration of your profession. “Laboratories across the nations should be celebrated for the unique contribution they make each day to healthcare delivery,” said Babatunde Oloyede, MLS(ASCP)CM, a member of the ASCP Laboratory Professionals Council. “While we house sick people in hospitals across the nations of the earth, true diagnoses for adequate treatment could only be found in the laboratories.”
