Infectious Disease Advisor (3/14, Basilio) reported, “Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccination is not associated with increased risk for new-onset or recurrent atrial fibrillation (AF) in older adults, according to results of a study.” The researchers said, “Our study suggests there is no significant increased risk for atrial fibrillation after RSV vaccine in the first 42 days after administration, potentially encouraging its broader use in high-risk populations.” The findings were published in Clinical Infectious Diseases.
