Endocrinology Advisor (9/3, Eck) reports, “Elevated interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels are associated with an increased risk for obesity-related cancers among patients recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, according to study results.” The investigators “found no link between” tumor necrosis factor-alpha or high-sensitivity C-reactive protein “and obesity-related cancer risk.” The findings will be presented at the 60th Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes.
