HCPlive (8/22, Johnson) reports, “Urinary molybdenum levels are associated with decreased prevalence of hyperuricemia and gout in adults,” according to a study. Specifically, investigators discovered “that after multifactorial adjustment, per one-unit increment in natural log-transformed 25(OH)D was associated with a 55% lower risk in all-cause mortality and a 61% lower risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality in patients with gout.” The findings were published in PLOS One.
