Investigators came to this conclusion after assessing “10,489 individuals (median age, 62.3 years; 70.3% women; 95.6% white) to determine how 5-year exposure to nitrogen dioxide and fine particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of 2.5 μm (PM2.5) or less are each linked to odds for a SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 symptom severity.” The findings were published in Respiratory Medicine.
