Christian Horrocks, MBA, never imagined making it to the “Top 6” when he was nominated for ASCP’s prestigious 40 Under Forty program last year. The annual program recognizes 40 emerging leaders and innovators in the fields of pathology and laboratory medicine all under the age of 40.
Mr. Horrocks says the experience has helped propel his reputation as a trusted leader within his workplace as well as the broader profession.
“I was humbled to be in the same company as others that have been honored by ASCP,” says Mr. Horrocks, director of laboratory services at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. “In addition to those in laboratory medicine, the staff and leaders throughout my institution further recognize that they have an actively engaged laboratory director who is open to committed partnerships to ensure the highest level of testing and quality in laboratory medicine.”
He strongly encourages others to apply for the ASCP 2022 40 Under Forty program. Applications are due April 29. Applicants/nominees must be a Fellow (pathologist), Fellow-in-Training, Resident, or Laboratory Professional member under 40 years old by the application deadline.
Applicants are asked to write about their achievements, research or contributions to the profession in an online form they submit. Past recipients have included trainees, fellows, medical technologists and quality compliance officers.
