In the spirit of being Stronger Together, ASCP is also working with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) to ensure all patients experiencing post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection, also known as PASC or Long COVID, are able to access the care they need. ASCP and AAPM&R are urging the creation of a national plan to address the Long COVID crisis, which is estimated to affect between 10 percent to 30 percent of those who have been infected with the coronavirus. As part of the plan, ASCP and AAPM&R urged the federal government to provide funds to support quality care for patients; help provide equitable access to care for all patients; and ensure support for research to advance the medical understanding and treatment of PASC.
